          SIAMS Inspection Report - 2019

St Saviour’s and St Olave’s School is delighted to announce the findings of their recent SIAMS Inspection report (March 2019). The inspection judged the school to be ‘Excellent’ (the highest rating, equal to the old ‘Outstanding’) in every respect.

This is a fantastic outcome for the whole school community and reflects the hard work by students, parents, carers, teachers and governors of the school. The previous inspection highlighted that St Saviour’s was a ‘flagship’ Church of England school and we are therefore very pleased that this report recognises the further improvements made by the school to develop its Christian character.

The report regularly makes reference to the “hospitable, inclusive and welcoming Christian community’ with ’high standards of conduct and care for all.’ The excellent leadership of teaching and learning within the Religious Studies Department ‘inspires students’ and helps to create ‘a safe space for spiritual development’…’where students are highly supportive of each other.’

The programme of collective worship devised by the school chaplain acts as ‘the heartbeat of the community’ and the leadership and management of the school enables ‘all to grow and flourish.’ Other aspects of the school praised in the report include the development of partnerships with diverse communities around the globe and the school’s provision of mental health support, demonstrating ‘remarkable care for the wellbeing of all associated with the school.’

Headteacher Catherine May, commenting on this report, said "I am delighted that this inspection has awarded St. Saviour’s and St. Olave’s the highest possible grading, which recognises the high quality of education offered here. It is testament to the care and commitment of everyone involved with St. Saviour’s and St. Olave’s – staff, students and parents - that our girls are able to develop academically and spiritually in our compassionate, inclusive and transformative school."
